The challenge
Circular economy and the “green transition” need to go hand in hand with digitalization. Digital service companies (SMEs) can create a large impact, if they start developing digital products and services for circular economy. The use of these innovative digital CE tools will in turn enable the “going circular” for their users. The Erasmus+ project CASCADE aims to offer an innovative VET approach for companies in the digital economy to develop projects for digitally supporting circular economy.
The solution
- Objective 1
- Objective 2
- Objective 3
- Objective 4
- Objective 5
Increasing awareness and curiosity for the economic potential and benefits of circular economy in the digital economy
Breaking down barriers for the adoption of circular business approaches through IT-enabled solutions
“Spark innovation” for circular economy in the “digital world”, by training the target group on the full life-cycle of innovative, circular projects
Foster intersectoral, interregional, and international cooperation to develop innovative circular economy projects
Outcomes: Key results
- Digital service companies (SMEs)/project participants/trainees develop their own original ideas for an innovative digital CE project from scratch to successful funding and implementation
- Multipliers along the life-cycle offer CASCADE to the target group (i.e. SMEs)
- Multipliers from different sectors (higher education, adult education, schools, etc.) use CASCADE’s training materials for their own audiences
- Facilitating the transition towards a circular, sustainable economy in Europe
- More visibility for digital circular business models and circular economy “online” through projects implemented by digital service companies (SMEs)
- Increased regional, interregional, national, international cooperation between SMEs and other organizations along the project life-cycle
